Higuera Blanca is centrally located and within a short drive of many important tourist destinations such as Puerto Vallarta, Bucerias, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle, Punta de Mita, Sayulita, San Pancho (San Francisco) and Lo de Marcos.

The Mexican Government recently announced that Higuera Blanca has been selected as the site for the first phase of an extensive 25 year tourism development project. This project which was initiated this year will include, new roads, several hotels, resorts, shopping and entertainment centers and a PGA 18 hole golf course. This project is funded and is presently underway in Higuera Blanca.
